Our chef

Maribel Corcho, the head chef and owner of Taste of the Caribbean, blends years of experience with her grandparents’ cherished recipes to bring amazing flavors to the community. A true foodie at heart, Maribel has always been passionate about great food and creating unforgettable moments.

Her love for food and entertaining led her to co-own a buzzing dinner and dance club in Etobicoke. It was a huge hit! But when it started taking over their lives, Maribel and her partner decided to sell the business and focus on finding a better work-life balance. They both went on to try new things.

For Maribel, that meant diving back into the corporate world, where she held senior positions in different industries. At the same time, she ran a small business support company, helping food business owners succeed, which kept her close to the industry she loves.

Through it all, Maribel never let go of her dream to share her grandparents’ recipes and her love for entertaining. When the pandemic came around, it turned out to be the perfect time to bring her vision to life. She opened a cozy spot where food, family, fun, and music come together—a place that feels like home.

With Taste of the Caribbean, everything fell into place to create a space where people can kick back, enjoy delicious food, and soak up those irresistible island vibes.
